About Me

I’m Asa Jones-McGhee, MSW, ASW, a mental health therapist who is passionate about walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate healing and growth. I earned my Master of Social Work from UMass Global and am a Registered Associate Social Worker. In my work, I gently incorporate the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to build coping skills that feel supportive and realistic for everyday life.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, supporting concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, and relationship challenges. I am registered with CCAPP for substance use counseling and have experience supporting individuals connected to the foster care system, as well as those impacted by homelessness, domestic violence, system involvement, and re-entry. I also have a background in sexual assault advocacy and strive to offer a trauma-informed, empowering space for survivors. I respect and honor each client’s personal values, beliefs, and sources of meaning, and I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels inclusive, supportive, and non-judgmental.

I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership, which shapes my understanding of how systems, relationships, and environments impact well-being. Above all, I aim to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward at their own pace.
